Skyliner – a new flagship of the Capital City is being constructed

One of the highest skyscrapers in Poland – 195 meters high and 50 floors high Skyliner – erected by Warbud S.A., is being built in Warsaw’s Wola district. Both the scale of the investment and the uniqueness of the applied solutions cause that the facility has a chance to become a new flagship of the Capital City soon.

It was the scale of the investment, engineering challenges and care for the highest quality of work that led the General Contractor – Warbud S.A. to cooperate with SHM System Kraków. The result of joint activities is a system that automatically controls selected engineering quantities:

  • strains and stresses inside reinforced concrete foundation barets, walls and pillars,
  • stresses in the ground under the foundation slab,
  • water pressure under the foundation slab,
  • the temperature of concrete and soil.

A novelty on a global scale is the use of EpsilonRebar composite fibr optic sensors to control the work of the selected bare foundation to measure the deformation of the element geometrically continuously over its entire length. Photograph by courtesy of Warbud S.A.
